We Are Not the Enemy & CAPE’s Handbook to Advocacy in Singapore

CAPE has partnered with Ethos Books to produce The CAPE Handbook to Advocacy in Singapore. Authored by CAPE and produced by Ethos Books, this concise guide is an accompaniment to We Are Not The Enemy: The Practice of Advocacy in Singapore. The guide dispels misconceptions and offers practical action steps, easing readers into strategies for effective advocacy and activism in the city-state.

Community

We are an independent and non-partisan community bringing together young Singaporeans with diverse backgrounds and interests in a wide range of civil society causes

Advocacy

We are a platform for fostering active citizenry among fellow students and Singaporeans, and nurturing accessible engagements with and for local civil society.

Political Education

We seek to raise critical consciousness of fellow students and Singaporeans, and build capacity for political literacy, civic participation, and active citizenry.

Empowering Democracy

CAPE runs project-based initiatives aimed at building political literacy among fellow students and the general public. Our work include extensive resources and research, as well as regular seminars, conferences, and workshops on civic issues.

Working across a diverse range of civil society and public sector actors, we have also provided informed and critical research, evidence-based advocacy, and consultation on public policy and Parliamentary Bills.

By young Singaporeans, for a better Singapore

Originally founded as a Yale-NUS College based student organisation in 2017, CAPE is now an independent, non-partisan, and volunteer-run movement. Our community brings together Singaporean students and youth, across generations of CAPE, towards our mission of strengthening our civic space and discourse.
